Carriers Quarters, Edinburgh
Pass through the distinguished Georgian door of Henry Hall's Carriers Quarters, the oldest pub in Leith, and join the throng of its many fans. Situated on one of the most celebrated streets in Leith, established in 1785, and within a very striking and characterful ancient tenement building, Henry Halls Carriers Quarters is an old local, big on character, and big on conviviality.
Quirky and original, you'll find all the old world charm you could want in the backroom, while the front of house bar has all the modern technology you need, with flat screen TV's for watching the footie.
Steal away from the bar to the more intimate old backroom and find yourself in another world; where the fire is crackling in the grate, and candles light the room in the evening.
Carriers Quarters has a real genuine feel. The bar staff are fun and friendly, and just can't get enough of the place, so when not serving behind the bar, as locals they love nothing more than to prop up the bar from the other side too.
Visitors to the Leith area can indulge themselves in a really great experience, where the friendly atmosphere and the superb selection of beers, wines, spirits, snacks, bar food and non-alcoholic beverages go down a treat. Lunch at the Carriers Quarters is not to be missed, with proper old-fashioned steak pie and all the trimmings heading up the mouth-watering menu.
With great music, an amazing atmosphere, fab food, friendly service, and big screens to watch your favourite football match, you can even surf the internet with the free Wi-Fi Internet connection if there's not enough going on for you already.
With a wide variety of foreign beers on draught and over 20 malts to choose from. The entertainment just doesn't stop at the Carriers Quarters, where there's live music on both Thursday and Sunday nights, courtesy of Leith's famous 'Jammy Devils', unleashed at 6.30, plus entry is free! You can also hear Sabai and Stanton at 8pm on Thursdays, and quiz nights on Mondays start at 6.30pm. Join in the 'I Love Leith' festivities from the comfort of Henry Hall's Carriers Quarters, and you'll discover Edinburgh at its best.
