LOCH NESS DAY TOUR

Awarded 5 stars by VisitScotland
Loch Ness, Glencoe & the Highlands
Explore some of Scotland's most iconic sites and stunning scenery like dramatic Glencoe, mighty Ben Nevis and infamous Loch Ness where you can go monster spotting!
HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Loch Ness boat cruise (Optional)
  • The Highland village of Fort Augustus
  • Eerie Glencoe, the 'Weeping Glen'
  • Includes a FREE packed lunch - typical lunch includes a bottle of Scottish mineral water, a choice of freshly made sandwiches, fresh fruit and shortbread
Heading north from Edinburgh we pass the imposing ramparts of Stirling Castle, skirt the Trossachs (Rob Roy country) before crossing the wilds of Rannoch Moor and onto dramatic Glencoe, site of the massacre of the McDonald clan in 1692.
Our tour takes us past Fort William and Britain's highest mountain, the mighty Ben Nevis before following the Great Glen and stopping in the village of Fort Augustus by the shores of mysterious Loch Ness.
You have the option to take a boat trip on mysterious Loch Ness and hunt for Nessie, explore the shores of the loch or simply relax and enjoy your free locally produced picnic lunch. (A typical lunch includes a bottle of Scottish mineral water, a choice of freshly made sandwiches, fresh fruit and shortbread).

Our return journey passes south along Loch Laggan stopping at one of the quaint Highland villages along the way. After one last sight of the spectacular Forth Bridges we arrive back in the Capital around 8pm.

Loch Ness Cruise option - a cruise on Loch Ness is an unforgettable experience, where you might just catch a glimpse of Nessie. We use locally owned custom built boats, designed with sonar and underwater imaging systems, giving you a fascinating view of the terrain and life underwater. You can also enjoy the views with a coffee or beer from the onboard bar. The cruise lasts about 1 hour. (Subject to availability during winter months).

You can purchase your cruise ticket at the time booking or from your guide on the day. Tickets booked through us cost £11 (a saving of £0.50p on the standard ticket price) and allow you to board the boat immediately on arrival in the village without having to queue. Please note: Loch Ness is a long drive from Edinburgh but well worth it! Not only do you get a great experience of Scotland's most famous loch but we travel in style on our bespoke midi-coaches which have been custom built for your comfort. There are stops along the way to stretch the legs and take in some quality Highland air.

This tour is run in conjunction with our sister company, Highland Explorer Tours.

Mountains, Lochs & Whisky
A stunning day tour of the Highlands, an ancient land of forests, mountains, rivers and glens. Visit a medieval castle and sample a warming dram of the 'water of life' at a whisky distillery.
HIGHLIGHTS
  • 14th Century Doune Castle (optional tour)
  • A whisky distillery (optional tour)
  • The Wallace Monument
  • Dunkeld Cathedral
Here's your chance to sample some single malt whisky, visit a medieval castle and explore the Highlands to give you an amazing Scottish experience in one day.
We head for the Highlands via Stirling, Scotland's ancient Capital and make a stop at the imposing tower built to honour one of our national heroes and patriots; the Wallace Monument. Onwards through the scenic beauty of the Trossachs National Park, we head to the 14th Century Doune Castle, made famous in the classic movie 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail'.
We pass Loch Earn and head through rural Perthshire to the Famous Grouse Experience, an award winning visitor centre and whisky distillery.
