| Walled up in the 18th century to provide the foundations for the Royal Exchange, now the city chambers, the true extent of the series of closes was once more revealed in 2003 and has since proved to be a major attraction for visitors to the city keen to experience Edinburgh life as it was from the 17th to 18th centuries. | The Real Mary King's Close is open all year round with the last tour at 9pm from April to October, and at 5pm weekdays during the winter months, 9pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Admission prices are £12 for adults, £6.50 for children and £10.50 concessions. Reductions are available for group bookings of 15 persons or more and a selection of special tours are available which combine the close with additional Royal Mile attractions.
